Nova Scotia's Natural Resources Department says crews have made "significant progress" battling wildfires across the province. Spokesman Jim Rudderham says battling the fires in dry conditions, including a 395-hectare blaze in Seven Mile Lake, and getting them to this point is a huge accomplishment. He says hundreds are involved in the effort. (Rudderham says the Seven Mile Lake fire is 45 per cent contained. Restrictions remain on activities within forests such as hiking, camping and fishing in a bid to keep more bone-dry woods from going up in flames.)
