Hundreds of people turned out on the east side of Toronto today to celebrate Canadian Olympic athletes. There was a parade and a gathering at a gazebo in Kew Gardens. Athletes included hometown hero, Penny Oleksiak (oh-LEK'-see-ak), who at age 16 won four swimming medals in Rio, including a gold. Toronto Mayor John Tory says Canadians are proud of their performance, but also their behaviour. (Tory added it was appropriate to have the event at a local neighbourhood park instead of formal city hall.)
