Former NHL player Sheldon Kennedy took his message to an international audience today as he talked about the sexual abuse he sustained while in the care of his junior hockey coach Graham James. Kennedy, the first of James's victims to come forward back in the 1990s, spoke to delegates from 42 countries representing front-line agencies, international policy-makers and researchers in Calgary. (Kennedy talked about his child advocacy centre which brings together police, social workers, medical staff, psychologists and prosecutors under one roof to try to avoid making child victims constantly relive incidents of abuse.)
