A not guilty plea has been entered for the man charged in the deaths of a Calgary woman and her five-year-old daughter. Edward Downey, 46, faces two counts of first-degree murder in the slayings of Sara Baillie and her daughter Taliyah (tah-LEE'-ah) Marsman. His lawyer Gavin Wolch entered the not guilty plea on Downey's behalf and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for August of next year. (Baillie was found dead in her northwest Calgary home on July 11 and an Amber Alert was issued for Taliyah. The little girl's body was found three days later in a rural area east of Calgary.)
