The deadline has come and gone, and a pastor who runs two Christian schools in Alberta is refusing to allow students the right to set up gay-straight alliances, as per provincial law. Education Minister David Eggen says the letter received last week on behalf of Pastor Brian Coldwell and the Indpednent Baptist Christian Education Society was not sufficient. (Kris Wells, an advocate for the LGBTQ, wonders what an inquiry will accomplish. He says someone either does or does not follow the law. And he says Coldwell has made it clear he will not.)
