First Nations and environmental groups want the federal government to revisit its approval of British Columbia's Site C dam, which they say would threaten a national park that is a World Heritage Site. Chief Steve Courtoreille (COURT'-oh-roy) of the Mikisew (MIH'-kih-soo) Cree says previous hydro development in B-C has already depleted rivers and lakes in the Wood Buffalo National Park area. (Investigators from the United Nations are wrapping up a week-long inspection of the site to see if the park's status is being endangered.)
