Health Minister Jane Philpott had some frank comments on the proposed rate of federal health transfers to the provinces and territories. She says when she sits down with her provincial counterparts tomorrow, she doesn't just want to talk about dollars and cents -- she wants to talk about issues like homecare and how to tackle the growing problem of mental health illnesses. (Philpott says she has a responsibility as the health minister for Canada to invest in health and to help improve health systems. And she says if she's going to ask Canada's finance minister for more money -- she needs to be able to tell him it is going to be used for health.)

Transcript Prediction: << Canadians spend more per capita on house than many many other countries around the world who actually get better health outcomes than we do so I'm not saying that it's not being spent well in fact I'm seeing great examples of innovation across the country but what I want to do when I sit down with health ministers is not to talk about physical mechanisms I want to talk about health care >>
