Madeleine Thien (TEE'-ehn) is still celebrating after winning the Governor General's Literary Award for fiction. The Vancouver-born, Montreal-based author was also in the running for the Man Booker Prize, which was awarded to American writer Paul Beatty today. Thien described her feelings after a big day. (The Governor General's Literary Awards will be handed out in Ottawa on November 30th.)
