The winners have been announced for this year's Governor General's Literary Awards. Vancouver-born, Montreal-based Madeleine Thien (TEE'-ehn) has won the fiction prize. And Saskatoon's Bill Waiser has received the non-fiction award. Tara Lapointe of the Canada Council of the Arts reveals some notable past winners. (The awards will be presented at Rideau Hall in Ottawa on November 30th.)
