Health officials in Victoria are looking to open two supervised drug consumption sites as overdose deaths continue to climb in the region. The B-C Coroners Service has said 555 people have died of opioid overdoses across the province between January and September of this year. Public health officer Doctor Richard Stanwick says the number of fatal overdoses spiked in the Victoria area early this year. (Officials expect to submit applications to the federal government by the end of next month, and Stanwick says a proposal for a third facility may be included.)
