Ontario is looking at adding one or two additional new ridings in the far north, dedicated primarily to First Nations communities. Attorney General Yasir Naqvi says an all-party commission will study the issue and determine if the province should create one or two new northern ridings. (Ontario already has one more northern seat than there is federally _ 107 provincial ridings compared with 106 federally _ and most of the 15 new seats being added in 2018 because of population will be in the big cities in the south.)
