Saskatchewan's health minister says the province will not stop providing private MRI scans despite a stern warning from the federal government. Federal Health Minister Jane Philpott says Saskatchewan's practice of allowing private clinics to charge for an MRI scan as long as they scan a patient on the public wait list for free is bad policy. But provincial Health Minister Jim Reiter (WRITE-er) says the policy saves money and meets a crucial need. (Philpott says the practice violates the Canada Health Act and Saskatchewan could lose federal health care funding if it continues.)
