Nova Scotia's auditor general says the province approved a new 21 million dollar, Halifax-area school despite evidence it wasn't needed. Michael Pickup says no one in government can appropriately explain why a new high school in Eastern Passage is being built despite concerns about the impact it would have on existing schools in the area. NDP Leader Gary Burrill refused to condemn the former Dexter government for the decision to approve the school. (Progressive Conservative Tim Houston says the auditor general revealed a system of "schools for votes" and change is needed in how new schools are chosen.)
