The Alberta government is making major changes to the regulator that protects consumers from scams when they buy cars. The Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council has four-million dollars in a fund to compensate consumers, but so far has paid out almost nothing. Opposition Wildrose Leader Brian Jean ('GENE) says the government had to act. (The government is replacing the leader of the council and making major structural changes to get money to consumers who have been scammed.)
