The Trudeau government is moving to deal with the crisis of opioid abuse and overdose deaths in Canada. It is introducing Bill C-37 to change the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Health Minister Jane Philpott says her ministry will have new influence in getting more safe injection sites opened. Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says one measure will add tougher regulations on drug pill presses. (But he adds any changes must be done in "a careful and thoughtful manner.")
