A Vancouver abortion doctor was seriously injured when a bullet from an AK-47 assault rifle pierced his leg while he was sitting at his kitchen table on the morning of November 8, 1994. Doctor Garson Romalis' home had previously been the target of anti-abortion pickets. BC Medical Association President Mark Schonfeld (SHAWN-FELD) said he was shocked at the violence.
