The immigration critic for the Canadian Alliance announced on July 4th that he was leaving the party's caucus. Manitoba MP Inky Mark called on leader Stockwell Day to quit. Mark said he was making the demand because people in his riding wanted Day to step down. (Thirteen Alliance members had left the caucus by this point. Mark wouldn't speculate on how many others would follow in his footsteps.)
