Two crews who rescued an ailing American doctor from a research station in the Antarctic returned home to Calgary on May 3rd. Co-pilot Mark Cary and his colleagues were welcomed by about 40 family and friends as their planes touched down at Calgary International Airport. He said they were all overwhelmed with the support they received in Canada, South America and Antarctica. (Pilot Sean Loutit (LOO'-tuht) received a big hug and kiss from his pilot wife, Sandra, after his plane landed. He joked that his next mission was to take the weekend off.)
