A northern Alberta doctor charged in the disappearance of a colleague was found guilty on Oct. 6 of manslaughter. Dr. Abraham Cooper had been charged with first-degree murder in the disappearance of Dr. Doug Snider from Fairview, Alberta in 1999. Snider's son, Darren, said one of the hardest things to take was defense allegations that his dad was still alive. The prosecution alleged Cooper killed Snider as part of a bitter turf war between doctors in Fairview.
