"Duddy'', the musical based on Mordecai Richler's classic "The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz," turned out to be dud. Producer Samuel Gesser announced June 3 he was bringing down the curtain on the million-dollar-plus musical because of economic and artistic differences. Gesser said there is nobody in Canada with the talent or the time to make it work.
