Two US pilots involved in the accidental bombing of Canadian forces in Afghanistan last year learned they would face discipline in an administrative forum as opposed to being court-marshalled. Majors Harry Schmidt and William Umbach were charged with involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and dereliction of duty. It was recommended that Schmidt go before a flight evaluation board. The bombing killed four Canadian soldiers, including Sergeant Marc Leger. His widow, Marley, was disappointed with the finding.
