The Anglican Church of Canada convened a rare Bishop's Court to hear the case of a gay Anglican priest who refused to end a homosexual relationship. Reverend James Ferry was asked to leave the pulpit of his church in Unionville, Ontario in 1991. Ferry told the court the issue was a matter of love. (On March 20th, the Bishop's Court ruled against Ferry, saying he would not get his priest's license back unless he agreed to abide by the church's disciplines. Church guidelines say homosexuals can be ordained if they promise to remain celibate.)
