Thousands of Canadians contracted hepatitis C from tainted blood during the 1980s and '90s. But only those who fell victim between 1986 and 1990 were eligible for a slice of a 1.1-billion dollar compensation fund. Jeremy Beaty, chairman of the Hepatitis C Society of Canada, said on Mar. 26 that 20-thousand other Canadians who contracted hep-c through bad blood before 1986 and after 1990 felt betrayed.
