A 16-year-old girl was killed and an 18-year-old boy was wounded after a shooting on a farm belonging to a well-known opponent of Alberta's oil-industry. Three shots were reportedly fired at two trucks leaving the property of Wiebo (WEE'-boh) Ludwig the morning of June 20. Jennifer Peterson, a friend of the slain girl, was dropped off at home just before the shooting. She said both she and her friend had reservations about going to the farm. By year's end, no arrests had been made.
