On October 31st, 24-year-old Justin Bourque was sentenced to serve 75 years in prison before he could apply for parole for the June 4th shooting rampage that killed three RCMP officers and wounded two other Mounties in Moncton. His sentence was the harshest in Canada since the last executions in 1962. In August, he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and attempted murder charges. Nadine Larche, the wife of 40-year-old Douglas Larche, said outside court that her life would never be the same.
