The Supreme Court of Canada reserved judgement in the case of Sue Rodriguez, who was dying of Lou Gehrig's disease. Rodriguez wanted a doctor-assisted suicide, which was against the Criminal Code. MPs refused to consider the question of doctors-assisted suicide, giving terminally ill people the right to decide to end their lives. But Rodriguez said she thought politicians would have to face the issue some time.
