The Supreme Court of Canada ruled that doctors cannot unilaterally decide to withdraw life support without the consent of the patient, their family members or a substitute decision maker. The case involved 61-year-old Hassan Rasouli, who had been kept alive on a ventilator and feeding tube since brain surgery in 2010 went wrong. Canadian Press reporter Colin Perkel had this report.
