A member of the Canadian military issued a warning after returning from war-torn Sierra Leone, where rebel forces had kidnapped hundreds of UN peacekeepers. Captain Lloyd Jackson said peace keepers in Sierra Leone needed to be able to push back when confronted. Jackson was one of five Canadian Forces observers who were sent to oversee a peace deal aimed at disarming and reorganizing the rebels.
