Riot police moved slowly toward the protesters milling around inside the perimeter. Canadian Press reporter Mike Omelus said police lobbed tear gas at the crowd. (Protesters threw objects at police-- including tear-gas canisters that police had lobbed into the crowd of demonstrators.)
