The Newfoundland and Labrador legislature voted June 20th to accept the general terms of a 2.9 billion dollar deal to develop the Voisey's Bay project. After three days of debate, the governing Liberals used their majority to carry the day on the massive nickel project. Newfoundland Premier Roger Grimes said the vote signals a new era for resource development and job creation in Canada's poorest province.
